Whether it's your inspiration piece your designing around, a source of color, or another bold dimension to add to a room: art is a great finishing touch.
These pieces were created by a crazy talented family friend. If I had one wish in life, it would be to paint as beautifully as this. She even creates her own canvases from scratch, priming them and all. Talk about skills!
This is Charlotte. She is a zipper spider that showed up at our doorstep about a week ago. I discovered her by nearly getting my face entangled in her cobweb and I have been fascinated with her ever since. She spins a beautiful net and it is so cool to see her up close tangling flies and moths in her web. I have never enjoyed the company of a spider but Charlotte is very relaxed, so we decided to keep her around to observe.
She wasn't at our doorstep this morning...Charlotte, your web will be missed.
I have a profound love for the U.S. of A. I find pride in the beautiful land of the free all the way from California, to the New York Islands. I am proud to wear red, white, & blue and adore this countries classic flag. Here are ways you can incorporate a little bit of America into your every day life.
This huge flag makes for great artwork and is an excellent statement piece!

I am proud to say that the only thing I can bake is a damn good quiche. Finally, I can make something besides packaged mixes that you add water to. I came across this recipe on a family trip in Martha's Vineyard last summer. We found the islands local Mom&Pop farm which was full of local grown produce, fresh baked pastries, and hot coffee. This was so delicious...I had to recreate it.
Morning Glory Quiche
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. You can create your own pastry crust but I bought Pillsbury pie crusts. The pie crusts come with two in a package and I use both sheets due to the density of the quiche. Next, you want to whisk the eggs and milk together. Fill the prepared pie crust with the cheese and vegetable filling. Pour milk mixture over cheese and filling. Once the dish is filled, finish it off with a sprinkle of paprika, salt, and pepper. Bake 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and fluffy.
*Double filling if it doesn't fill the dish completely*
& BAMMM you've got a kickin quiche
The Hibiscus flower is refered to as the "flower of the hour" because it is only open for such a small window of time each day. I find this flower simply beautiful. I love how they vary in rays of explosive color.
Hibiscus always seem to remind me of sweet summertime and rich culture from the pacific. In Korea, the Hibiscus is a symbol of immortality and in Malaysia, the flower represents courage, honor, and life. However, it is most comonly associated with gentle beauty.

The tats that I purchased are Hindu inspired however, each are unique. These are the perfect accessory for concert-goers or the bold who wear it on a regular day. I am inspired by the rich color red. This is a warm and positive color associated with our most physical needs and our will to survive. It exudes a strong and powerful energy that evokes feeling. Red is energizing. It excites the emotions and motivates us to take action.
With all this being said, I was so moved by red that I decided to revamp my room and incorporate the color.
