Having grown up with the lake in the summertime, it has become one of my favorite ways to celebrate the heat. I can't find more joy than cruising around on a boat with my people and a cooler full of ice cold drinks & good eats. One of my favorite things to do is find the perfect cove, crank up the music and hang out with family & friends! Life is much simpler on a boat.
We started the day off right with delicious doughnuts from my favorite shop, Dutch Monkey Doughnuts. These things are massive and so stinking good! I picked out the larger Nutella Twist doughnut and I have no shame in saying that I nearly ate the entire thing. This place blows other doughnut shops out of the water!

Picnics are unique dates that allow you to dine at unusual places. They are the perfect time to surprise and connect with your person while enjoying delicious food. For this picnic, I scoured Pinterest for the best recipes. I choose to make chicken avocado caesar salad, watermelon & lime salad, pineapple lemonade, and bought my favorite fruit tart from Whole Foods.

I'm a sucker for Pineapples! This trend for me started in May when I got my prom date a pineapple boutonniere. It has a certain charm to it, that to me symbolizes good times are ahead. Expressing welcome, good cheer, and family affection, the pineapple signifies hospitality. Here are my favorite ways to incorporate the summer fruit into everyday life.

A miniature pineapple makes for the perfectly unique boutonniere. I got this for my prom date and it was the talk of the night, people could not believe this was real. The small pineapple came from a small florist in Marco Islands in Florida.

Anyone who personally knows me, knows that I love the American Flag. Something about the classic and powerful colors of red, white, and blue makes me want to display the stars & stripes year round. With Independence Day weekend upon us, I thought it would be the perfect time to share my favorite Old Glory decorated rooms.
