1. Bright & Colorful Clutches (Star Mela) $92.00
My favorite time of the year is finally here and its accompanied with some hot fashion trends. This year, shades of bright yellows are really popular, as are crisp outfits of all white. Here is a list of some predicted trends for spring and summer from the fashion world and myself.
1. Bright & Colorful Clutches (Star Mela) $92.00
Everything you could ever want in a spring/summer clutch, this would add the needed punch of color to any outfit. I can picture this already with a linen outfit for a night out on the town or at the beach.
Springs in the air! Oh how I've missed the hot sun & green grass. My absolute favorite first sign of spring are the yellow and white daffodils that sprout around Georgia yards.
Seriously, I'm dying to wear linen, sundresses, and shorts. If I could live my life in a sun dress and a pair of espadrilles, I would. Here is a look at a few of my favorite warm weathered items.
For this look I'm wearing this geometric mini dress from Free People. I bought this from Nordstrom Rack a few years back so unfortunately, it's not on sale. If you're obsessed with FP (like I once was), shop at Nordstrom Rack. They carry some of the brands pieces for much less!
P.S. Flowers are the best accessory.
If you follow me on instagram then you may have already seen this fantastic braid. This voluminous & perfect messy look is really simple and looks great every time! Recently, I have become obsessed with messy buns. I never got the hang of how to make them cute until I saw an Amber Fillerup tutorial. She is gorgeous, has beautiful long hair, and actually teaches techniques oppose to a simple tutorial. If you are unfamiliar with her videos & blog, definitely give her a look.

I've gotten a few comments on my instagram lately from you guys complimenting my skin & makeup, I literally have the simplest routine. My favorite everyday products consist of: foundation, loose powder, bronzer, eyebrow pencil, and a quick swipe of lipstick. My makeup takes about 5-10 minutes every morning and is the quickest part of getting ready.
1.Laura Mercier Moisture Supreme Foundation ($48)
I have eczema on my checks so they are always dry, bumpy, and red. From what I've used on the market, this is my favorite foundation. My face doesn't look cakey & I feel like it's helping my skin when I wear it (oppose to sitting on the surface and feeling heavy). This product lasts a long time, so you are definitely getting a bang for your buck here.
2. Bare Minerals Powder ($28)
While this is Bare Minerals Original Foundation Powder, I use mine for setting my liquid foundation. This is a great way to ensure my makeup will last longer and cover up any unwanted rosiness on my cheeks. I used this stuff in middle school solely as my foundation but found the coverage wasn't great for my skin type. However, do whatever works for you!
3. Anastasia Brow Pencil ($23)
Eyebrows are so important! Strong and thick brows have oddly become a huge deal in the last few years. In order to achieve a bold brow, you need Anastasia Brow pencil or other products like the gel version. I currently have the pencil and I feel 10x better after using it. I hope to try the gel soon.
4. Guerlain Bronzing Powder ($53)
This is quite pricy for bronzer but it is the bomb!!! I was skeptical about the purchase but the pigment is great and it really gives you that desired sun kissed skin, the perfect amount of glow year round.
5. Marc Jacobs Lipstick ($30)
I'm a lover of red & plum lipstick and thought I'd expand my collection with this coral/orange color. It can't wait to wear this color with a summer tan in a few months. The color also lasts up to 10 hours so you don't have to constantly reapply. Super excited about this purchase!

In all of the 11+ years that my family has lived in Georgia, we have never made it to the Botanical gardens. I've always wanted to see the impressive displays of colorful flowers and sculptured shrubs. This weekend my sister, mom, and I experienced it for the first time. My expectations were blown out of the water!
Before we hit the sites , we shared a little appetizer at The Café at Linton's there in the Garden. We shared a delicious cheese plate made from local ingredients and sipped on french pressed coffee & champagne.
Since Georgia is at the ending point of winter, the outside flowers were not quite in bloom. So, we headed for the green houses which have the largest collection of orchids in the U.S. It was so satisfying to walk into the lush & humid greenhouse full of popping colors! With the exception of visitors and tourists, I could have sat in there for hours. We enjoyed running around in the palms & grasses. Every color bursts against the green, the pictures turned out amazing!
I appreciate cozy & chunky sweaters for the colder months of the year. It seems like all I want to wear are huge sweaters that I can hide from the cold in. However, I am so done with this weather and I'm tired of my winter wardrobe. I miss my linen and complaining about the summer heat. Slowly but surely, winter will pass and spring will be upon us. Until that time comes, here is one of my favorite turtle neck sweaters.
I have created Picky Me due to a common characteristic of mine, which is that I can't settle...on anything. I believe in the best of what's out there. Here you can find anything from home inspirations to fashion.
